This OEM Radeon RX 6800 XT looks terribly familiar
A Redditor shared some interesting photos of an OEM Radeon RX 6800 XT. The Big Navi graphics card is said to have originated from the Dell camp and was taken from an Alienware gaming system.
When you first set eyes on the Dell Radeon RX 6800 XT, the Radeon VII might be the first thing that comes to mind. While not exactly the same, the design reminds us of the old Vega 20 graphics card. Granted, Dell’s rendering of the Radeon RX 6800 XT isn’t as extravagant as Lenovo’s design, which still features a fairing. more rectangular with flashy RGB lighting.
Dell’s Radeon RX 6800 XT conforms to a dual slot design with a rugged three-fan cooling system. The circuit board is old-fashioned green in color, but has a black backplate. Green PCBs are expected to be cheaper than black PCBs, which could explain Dell’s decision. Also, this OEM Radeon RX 6800 XT may reside in a side panel windowless case, so the green PCB shouldn’t be a big deal. Other than the Radeon logo, the graphics card shows no other marketing sign.
The Redditor did not share the specs of this particular OEM model, so we don’t know if it sticks to AMD’s benchmark specs. The Navi 21-based graphics card still uses two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, so it must maintain the TDP rating of 300 W. According to Redditor, the graphics card cooling solution is performing well and temperatures of memory are said to be very good.
Regarding the display output design, the Dell version differs from the baseline specification. Graphics cards offer an HDMI 2.1 port and three DisplayPort 1.4 outputs, which means Dell has ditched the USB Type-C port in favor of an additional DisplayPort 1.4 output. This is a great choice because not many consumers will be able to use the USB Type-C port. However, an additional DisplayPort 1.4 output will allow you to connect an additional display to the graphics card.
The Radeon RX 6800 XT from the Reddit thread is an OEM model, so you’re unlikely to find it on the market unless someone extracts the graphics card and returns it to eBay. The average eBay price for a Radeon RX 6800 XT is around $ 1,516, which is 133.6% more than its MSRP of $ 649. It’s definitely a tempting thought.
