SAGA AND COM2US ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO POWER GAMES INFRASTRUCTURE
SAN FRANCISCO and Seoul, South Korea, November 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Saga and XPLA, the game-specific content-focused channel built by MetaMagnet with lead partner Com2uS, the world’s largest mobile game developer, today announced a partnership to provide both XPLA and its games a scalable infrastructure using the Saga protocol.
Saga’s unique use of cross-chain security will allow XPLA games and services to spread across their own dedicated chains, or Chainlets. Using Saga technology, XPLA will be able to acquire expanded block space for its own chain by automatically deploying Saga chains. The result is the highest performance environment available for Web3 games, and all games and channels have full flexibility over their fee and token model with end users. Saga’s protocol will power the infrastructure only on the backend, allowing for the least amount of friction in the user experience.
Saga is a Web3 infrastructure protocol that allows developers to build gaming and entertainment applications with their own dedicated block space. Dedicated block space ensures high throughput, easy upgradeability, congestion relief, and no dependency on other applications using Saga. Additionally, infrastructure gas charges remain predictable and are by default hidden from the end user, allowing developers to use any token or currency for their applications. The automated deployment of the dedicated block space will be secured via cross-chain security by the same set of validators that underpin the Saga mainnet.
XPLA, developed earlier this year by MetaMagnet with Com2uS as a key partner, is the first Web3 gaming platform in South Korea and is becoming increasingly popular in multiple markets given the strength of the broader Com2uS platform. The XPLA chain was developed to set the standard for sustainable, long-term application development in the blockchain industry, focusing on gaming, content, and entertainment that will continuously advance in the future. More broadly, the XPLA channel aims to become a blockchain digital media platform, which will host a variety of cultural content including movies, music, art and games.
Saga and XPLA will begin by building on Saga’s AlphaNet Andromeda, the first chapter in Saga’s journey to mainnet. It is part of a series of releases that make up the complete developer flow for launching applications in single-tenant virtual machines (VMs) on dedicated channels, or channels, on Saga. Andromeda is currently implemented as a development tool that easily provisions the necessary infrastructure and deploys EVM-compatible chains.
Saga and XPLA will collaborate over the next few months on future Saga releases, culminating in full mainnet integration of the technology and extending into a long-term partnership on future iterations.
To enhance the developer experience, the parties plan to engage in joint ecosystem activities during the partnership, including hackathons, conference appearances, developer summits, and workshops.
Saga and the Com2uS team behind XPLA will organize a Twitter spaces on Wednesday, November 16, 2022at 8 a.m. PT to discuss details and answer any questions regarding their new partnership.
