Bungie help pages already reference the software
Right below you can see a screenshot of Bungie’s official help page, which appeared earlier today. The screenshot refers to “BattlEye anti-cheat support,” which The Verge reporter Tom Warren has since corroborated. Warren claims the screenshot is legitimate and that Bungie has been working on the new anti-cheat software for Destiny 2 for several months.
Destiny 2 is said to have anti-cheat support software on PC.
This is only good news for those who play Destiny 2 on PC. Last month, PC Gamer reported that Bungie was actually hiring someone to help them solve Destiny 2’s ongoing cheating issue on PC. The role was apparently for someone who would help develop anti-cheat software for Bungie’s shooter, which now seems to be coming to fruition.
In fact, throughout 2020, Bungie revealed that Destiny 2 saw a 50% increase in cheats over the previous year. The report stated that most of this cheating apparently came from the online shooter PC player base, which isn’t much of a surprise. Now, however, with the announced arrival of the BattlEye anti-cheat software for Destiny 2, things are looking up for the Destiny 2 PC player base, who are no doubt fed up with cheaters spoiling their fun.
