Gamers have a new way to mine cryptocurrency with their powerful PCs
Formed in 2017, GamerHash is a well-established project with just under a million users and a solid business base. In fact, given the business premise of the project, it’s surprising that there aren’t more copycat companies following their business model. However, it would be difficult to catch up now given their starting player advantage.
In a word, GamerHash combines the unused CPU and GPU from gaming devices to mine cryptocurrencies. It only works on gaming devices with their powerful graphics cards. No additional electricity is consumed; it takes advantage of the electricity already in use. The software automatically selects the cryptocurrencies to mine from a basket of twelve. The user is not aware of the details but receives a reward in Bitcoin.
The cost of these gaming machines is typically between $ 4,000 and $ 5,000. The more powerful machines are able to mine more cryptocurrency, but the average machine can generate around $ 100 per month – enough to pay bills or purchase services or digital items, while the more powerful machines can generate. earning around $ 250 per month, offering decent potential. return on investment of just over a year.
So the player who usually has the machine on 24 × 7 can earn passive income without spending any additional fees.
The rewards are accumulated daily and once a modest threshold is reached they are sent to the player in BTC and as a bonus they also receive GamerCoin GHX – which they can send to their private wallet such as MetaMask.
GamerHash has also set up a marketplace providing access to major brands such as Netflix, Fortnite, Apple, and in Poland, GamerCoin can be used in over 500 IRL stores such as Starbucks.
There are two axes behind GamerHash – the first is that it allows players to earn value without having to access a bank or credit card. The second is the vision to develop the world’s largest self-funded supercomputer on gaming computers provided by gamers on a voluntary basis.
Considering that there are an estimated 3.24 billion players in the world, that’s an army.
But there’s more, even if interested parties don’t have access to these powerful gaming machines, GamerHash has incorporated a Play2Earn template, which will soon be available as a mobile app. The users devote their time to simple activities and earn the GamerCoin which can be spent in the GamerHash marketplace.
The main business was started in South Korea, although the founders are Polish, and is currently focused on South East Asia.
As Artur Pszczolkowski, Marketing Director and Vice President of GamerHash, explains:
“Anyone with a standard gaming PC can download our app which runs in the background, much like a screen saver. The magic sauce of our product is the algorithm that selects the most suitable cryptocurrency without the player needing to do or know anything about the mining. Cryptocurrencies selected for mining tend to be the second tier of coins – because cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are too expensive to mine – so we generally look to mine for coins like Ethereum Classic, Monero, Ravencoin – essentially pieces that work on a proof of work consensus. “
Again, players don’t need to know about these coins as they are paid for in bitcoin and GamerCoin (GHX).
“Other projects in this space usually only offer in-game coupons, but we like to give real value. It turns out that two-thirds of our users tend to spend their rewards on the platform and therefore most of the money earned stays in the ecosystem.
The marketplace currently has over 600 digital products for sale, some of which are country focused. More and more point of sale options are being rolled out as GamerHash enters new markets.
“We are also deeply involved in the gaming industry and are the first members of the Blockchain Game Alliance with well known names such as Sandbox, Ubisoft and Polygon. We’ve been talking about NFTs and the Metaverse long before it got all the rage. The early onboarding of players in Southeast Asia who did not have GPU cards was instrumental in our implementation of the Play2Earn model and now we are also looking to partner with mainstream browser-based games such as Games of Thrones.
GamerHash has been busy building partnerships, its OG status allowing it to forge good relationships.
Its native token, GHX, is listed on a number of exchanges, including Bithumb, KuCoin, and Bitcoin.com.
“But we’re only aiming for the top 15 trades. We see it becoming the widely used GamerCoin in our market – which is growing exponentially.
Pszczolkowski has big plans for the future and understands Europe and the traditional tech giants.
“We knew we wanted to work with the biggest game companies on the planet and work with Microsoft, IBM, HP, etc. We therefore had to put in place all of our compliance and regulatory requirements. We choose Malta as our natural base because this country is working hard to make crypto compliant. “
“We had to be fully legitimate and we used the crypto winter to complete the paperwork required to get a license in Europe via Malta. We are truly 100% legitimate crypto.
GamerHash’s roadmap is more of a highway given its speed of deployment. It hopes to have crossed 1 million user points in the first quarter of 2022. It is also launching a major NFT marketplace and will offer staking for GamerCoin holders.
“We’re also going to start burning tokens from this month (December) through June. We intend to burn 72 million out of a total of 880 million, or 8% in total over the next six months. It will be great for the community, but we also want to point out that these tokens come from the team pool.
“We are here for the long term and committed to the project. “
Part of the fun aspect of this project is that they partnered up with Sandbox over a year and a half ago – purchasing land that they plan to turn into the headquarters of GamerHash. Players will be able to visit the NFT gallery (in collaboration with Counter-Strike) and purchase products from the marketplace.
“We are also setting up a GamerHash NFT fund worth $ 1 million to purchase NFTs which we can also feature in our gallery on Sandbox, including NFT Counter-Strike.”
Finally, Pszczolkowski ends with a humorous anecdote of a gamer mother whose son had been liberal in the use of his credit card.
“She contacted me for advice on what gaming device to buy for her son – so he could earn his own pocket money. It made me laugh.
