GALAX GeForce RTX 3080 Ti HOF OC LAB Edition graphics card achieves 2.8 GHz overclock with LN2 cooling
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card has been around for a while now, but overclockers have just started using higher-end models like GALAX’s HOF OC LAB edition. This premium, limited-edition variant has been pushed to 2.8 GHz on LN2 cooling, which is the highest frequency achieved so far on an RTX 3080 Ti graphics card.
GALAX GeForce RTX 3080 Ti HOF OC LAB graphics card 2.8 GHz Push Edition Overclock on LN2 cooling
The GALAX GeForce RTX 3080 Ti HOF OC LAB Edition graphics card is designed only for die-hard overclockers. This falls into the same category as the HOF OC LAB XOC variant which is another card with a heavily compartmentalized GPU designed for overclocking and this is evident with its huge 400W TDP by default and even more so with the XOC BIOS. personalized. The graphics card features three-fan, three-slot designs with a white colored shroud, PCB, and backplate. For LN2 overclockers, the cooling solution is of no use as they will put the PCB under LN2 cooling anyway.
The PCB is a 24-phase design that includes 14 dedicated phases for GPU, 6 for VRAM, and 4 for PLL. The stock card has a boost frequency of up to 1815 MHz when operating in P mode, which indicates the performance profile. The board is powered through an 8-pin triple connector configuration and has the necessary voltage reading points on the PCB.
The OGS and overclock team, Rauf, who has already broken several world records for GALAX cards, pushed the card to an impressive 2.8 GHz and compared it in several synthetic tests such as 3DMark Port Royal in which the card scored up to 18,726 points with a clock boost touching 2.80 GHz.
While such high frequencies are a very impressive feat, we have to mention that GALAX’s GeForce RTX 3090 HOF had already been pushed to 3.015 GHz by Rauf and Team OGS before. On top of that, AMD still holds the top spot in GPU frequency records with its Navi 21 XTXH GPU which achieved insane 3.3GHz overclocking on LN2 cooling. If that’s not enough, GALAX and Team OGS hit 2.94 GHz on the GALAX RTX 2080 Ti HOF OC LAB Edition, which is 140 MHz higher overclocking than the successor (GeForce RTX 3080 Ti).
