Alleged name of Intel’s long-awaited Arc discrete GPU family leaked
Back at its Architecture Day 2021 event, Intel shared a lot more information regarding its highly anticipated Arc line of discrete graphics cards. The company unveiled its ambitious roadmap and detailed the architectural makeup of its first-generation Arc GPUs dubbed “Alchemist”. You can read everything about this subject here.
The famous momomo_us leaker spotted the potential naming scheme for the Arc GPU family today. The image he posted appears to be a BOM table for use by Intel and its supplier partners, which explains how the next Arc GPU family will be named.
While the graphic shows in detail how Intel apparently wants its Arc graphics products to be defined by its partners, the most interesting information comes from the last line as it apparently confirms that Team Blue, the first generation Alchemist GPUs will be designated. like “Arc a-series”.
It also gives us an idea of what the company might also call its next-gen Arc GPU families.
Since the a-series is supposed to indicate Alchemist GPUs, next-gen GPUs can be named as follows:
|Battle mage||series b (?)|
|Celestial||series c (?)|
|Druid||series d (?)|
Intel has announced plans to launch its Arc Alchemist-based graphics cards next year so we know more about it. Other information could also be shared at CES 2022.
